Description

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional squad to build and support a specific part of Monzo’s product.
  • Design and build backend services for Monzo’s in-house banking platform.
  • Work across areas such as core banking, business banking, wealth, borrowing, payments, platform, security, fincrime, and expansion.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, researchers, analysts, writers, and other engineers to deliver customer impact.
  • Make data-informed decisions with a focus on customer outcomes.
  • Contribute to resilient software and distributed systems work.
  • Participate in a standard interview process across multiple collectives to find the best team match.
  • Support and improve services that run on Monzo’s production and data infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product.
  • Interest in building products used every day by customers.
  • Product mindset with comfort making data-informed decisions.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous team environments.
  • Interest in distributed systems and writing resilient software.
  • Some experience with strongly typed languages such as Go, Java, C, or Scala.
  • No formal qualifications or degree requirements.
  • Willingness to learn Monzo’s stack during onboarding; prior knowledge is not expected.
  • Availability for an interview process that typically takes around 4 weeks.
  • Ability to work in the UK; Monzo can support relocation and sponsor visas.

  • Base salary of £78,000 to £110,000.
