Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks, performance automated tests, and internal tooling for the MongoDB query engine.
  • Build advanced testing approaches including end-to-end testing, fuzzing, and property-based testing.
  • Develop performance measurement and high-volume workload generation tools.
  • Collaborate with peers to understand new features and ensure testability, coverage, and tooling for happy-path and edge-case scenarios.
  • Review code changes and provide feedback focused on robustness and reliability.
  • Help maintain the quality of query engine features through rigorous development, testing, and automation strategies.
  • Contribute to internal tooling and codebases for MongoDB’s query engine.
  • Support improvements in test efficiency and coverage over time.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software development and/or performance engineering.
  • Fluency in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Experience working on difficult problems in a distributed environment.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to decompose and solve complex problems, iterate quickly, and validate hypotheses.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with relational or NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Experience developing automation test frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience in query processing engine testing is a strong plus.
  • Experience developing performance test plans and monitoring frameworks is a strong plus.
  • Background in database query engines or compilers is a strong plus.
