Description

  • Research, write, and structure training content across legal practice areas, professional skills, and leadership development topics.
  • Produce complete learning content packages, including scripts, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, knowledge checks, discussion guides, and job aids.
  • Translate complex legal concepts, procedures, and skills into clear, accessible, scenario-based learning content.
  • Develop realistic case studies, practice scenarios, and skill application exercises for family law practitioners.
  • Design the structure, sequencing, learning objectives, and architecture of multi-module training programs.
  • Create program blueprints and content maps that define scope, sequence, duration, format, and assessment strategy.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design frameworks to build competency-based training.
  • Collaborate with managing attorneys, practice group leaders, and subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop assessment strategies and evaluation measures to track learner progress, training effectiveness, and skill application.
  • Maintain and update training content to reflect changes in law, firm policy, and best practices.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional content design, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills for both practitioner and novice audiences.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE, SAM, or backward design.
  • Experience conducting needs analyses and developing measurable learning objectives.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort working with subject matter experts to synthesize complex technical information.
  • Background in legal education, paralegal studies, or professional development within a law firm or legal services environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with family law concepts and multi-jurisdictional practice preferred.
  • Experience developing scenario-based or simulation-style learning content preferred.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and digital learning delivery preferred.
  • Experience with legal research tools or ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar legal subject matter preferred.
  • J.D., paralegal certification, or equivalent legal professional experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and judgment skills, including handling confidentiality and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with executives, attorneys, management, and support staff.
  • Must be able to perform the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
