Description

  • Research, write, and structure substantive training content across legal practice areas, professional skills, and leadership topics for attorneys and paralegals.
  • Produce complete learning content packages, including module scripts, narration text, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, knowledge checks, discussion guides, and job aids.
  • Translate complex legal concepts, procedures, and skills into clear, scenario-based learning content for audiences with varying experience levels.
  • Develop realistic case studies, practice scenarios, and skill application exercises that reflect family law practice.
  • Design the structure, sequencing, learning objectives, scope, duration, format, and assessment strategy for multi-module training programs.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design frameworks to create competency-based training.
  • Collaborate with managing attorneys, practice group leaders, and subject matter experts to gather input and ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Provide the Learning Experience Designer with organized, production-ready content packages and review completed deliverables for content integrity.
  • Maintain and update training content to reflect changes in law, firm policy, and best practices.
  • Develop and analyze assessment and evaluation measures using completion data, learner feedback, practical exercises, and observed skill application.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional content design, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills for both practitioner and novice audiences.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE, SAM, or backward design.
  • Experience conducting needs analyses and developing measurable learning objectives.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver complete work on deadline.
  • Comfort working with subject matter experts to synthesize complex technical information into learning content.
  • Background in legal education, paralegal studies, or professional development within a law firm or legal services environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with family law concepts and multi-jurisdictional practice is preferred.
  • Experience developing scenario-based or simulation-style learning content is preferred.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and digital learning delivery is preferred.
  • Experience with legal research tools or the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar legal subject matter is preferred.
  • J.D., paralegal certification, or equivalent legal professional experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with executives, management, attorneys, and support staff.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, prioritization skills, and sound judgment regarding confidentiality and sensitive information.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting demands, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
