Description

  • Design, develop, and evaluate fraud detection models, including fraud-scoring and ensemble models.
  • Analyze large-scale data to identify patterns, anomalies, and new signals for fraud detection.
  • Define experimentation and evaluation methods, including model calibration, operating thresholds, and production performance metrics.
  • Develop interpretable ML approaches that explain fraud scores and decisions to stakeholders and customers.
  • Explore fraud-decisioning techniques such as human-in-the-loop and causal methods.
  • Collaborate with Product and Fraud Domain Experts to translate fraud challenges and production feedback into ML capabilities.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to productionize scalable, maintainable ML solutions.
  • Contribute to model monitoring, governance, technical documentation, ML tooling, and team best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Approximately 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Applied ML Scientist, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods, supervised machine learning, and model evaluation for highly imbalanced classification problems.
  • Hands-on experience with feature engineering and ML model development using behavioral, relational, or contextual data.
  • Strong programming and analytical skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud-based machine learning and data infrastructure.
  • Strong spoken and written English and ability to collaborate across distributed teams and time zones.
  • Experience in fraud detection, financial crime, payments, digital identity, risk, or Trust & Safety (preferred).
  • Knowledge of graph-based methods, representation learning, or causal AI (preferred).
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg, Apache Pinot, production ML deployment, or Linux environments (preferred).
