Description

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of agreements, including master services, consulting, confidentiality, license, clinical trial, manufacturing, supply, commercial, and operational contracts.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and business leaders to structure transactions and assess legal and business risks.
  • Resolve contractual disputes and support the management of contract-related legal issues.
  • Improve contracting processes, templates, policies, and contract management systems to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and external advisors as needed.
  • Support additional legal, compliance, corporate, and strategic initiatives within the Legal Department.
  • Work closely across functions to facilitate successful business outcomes in a fast-paced, pre-commercial biotech environment.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry and/or equivalent law firm experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise drafting and negotiating complex commercial, clinical, and operational agreements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and pursue novel approaches to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and exercise sound business judgment with critical thinking skills and high ethical standards.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, positive approach and the ability to operate effectively with a high degree of independence.
  • Ability to complete tasks with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up.
  • Strong academic credentials are required.
  • Up to 10% travel is required, including overnight travel outside the local area.
