Description

  • Design and evaluate quarterly business review scenarios involving performance versus benchmark, allocation drift versus IPS tolerance bands, and material fund document changes.
  • Write and grade underperformance explanation tasks grounded strictly in fund documents and manager commentary.
  • Create rebalancing test cases with full tax-impact calculations, including cost basis, short-term and long-term capital gains, and alternatives to selling.
  • Build tax-loss harvesting scenarios that test the wash-sale rule, including the 30-day backward window and substantially identical securities across fund families and tickers.
  • Develop suitability check cases that assess risk tolerance, time horizon, prohibited holdings, and concentration limits against a client's Investment Policy Statement.
  • Design ESG look-through scenarios where fund labels differ from actual holdings due to subsidiary relationships or exclusion methodologies.
  • Construct fee-stack analysis cases covering portfolio-weighted expense ratios, advisory fees, and all-in cost comparisons against category benchmarks.
  • Author goal-projection scenarios that ensure assumption-based language is used and commitment language is avoided.
  • Document test cases clearly with verified calculations, policy citations, and correct answers.

Requirements

  • Please submit your CV in English and indicate your level of English proficiency.
  • 3+ years of experience managing portfolios or writing investment research in a fiduciary context such as RIA, private wealth, asset management, family office, or bank trust.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • No specific degree is required if CFA charterholder status or comparable credentials are present.
  • Ability to compute time-weighted returns, attribution effects using the Brinson framework, and portfolio-weighted expense ratios without assistance.
  • Practical knowledge of the wash-sale rule in both directions, tax-lot accounting methods such as FIFO, specific identification, and HIFO, and short- versus long-term gain treatment.
  • Ability to identify every constraint in an Investment Policy Statement and flag conflicts with a proposed recommendation.
  • Ability to distinguish marketing summaries from legal language in prospectuses and fact sheets.
  • Excel modeling competence, including assumptions in named cells, performance attribution models, and tax-impact worksheets that update correctly.
  • Strong written English at C1+ level.
  • CFA charterholder, CFP, CPWA, CIMA, or CIPM credential is a strong positive signal.
  • FINRA Series 7, 65, or 66 license is a baseline positive signal.
