Description

  • Design original computational biology problems that simulate real biology research workflows.
  • Create problem sets that require Python programming to solve using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and BioPython.
  • Develop computationally intensive problems that cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
  • Build tasks that require non-trivial reasoning in bioinformatics, systems biology, and molecular modeling.
  • Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from biology practice.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard computational biology libraries.
  • Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.
  • Work on project-based tasks during active phases, typically estimated at 10–20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Degree in Biology or a related field.
  • Python proficiency for numerical validation.
  • Equivalent experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or another programming language.
  • 2+ years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching experience.
  • Experience with biological data analysis and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and computational methods.
  • Strong written English at C1 level or higher.
  • Ability to work on part-time, non-permanent projects.
