Description

  • Translate company vision and strategy into actionable product plans with the Product Director.
  • Partner with customers to identify and prioritize needs, document epics and requirements, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and UX to break epics into features and user stories while advocating for customers throughout development.
  • Validate solution impact against strategic goals and coordinate documentation, training, support, and marketing for releases.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and feedback demonstrations, assess feedback, and adjust priorities to maximize customer value.
  • Serve as a product subject-matter expert for service, sales, and marketing teams, and represent SchoolTool at user groups and conferences.
  • Facilitate retrospectives and improve organizational processes, tooling, and team efficiency.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, automate routine work, enhance quality, and support innovation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Product Owner experience owning data platform strategy and analytics solutions such as reports, dashboards, self-service tools, alerts, and data exports.
  • 4+ years of experience in PK-12 education and familiarity with PK-12 data domains, preferably including Ed-Fi, SIS, Assessment, SPED, MTSS, Instruction, HR, and Finance.
  • Experience in SaaS product management and working with data platforms at scale is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, including managing requests from multiple channels and concurrent projects.
  • Ability to define data quality, timeliness, accuracy, adoption, and business-impact requirements for analytics products.
  • Ability to understand customer decisions and outcomes and design data solutions suited to contexts such as compliance, operations, and self-service exploration.
  • Sound judgment regarding the ethical, secure, and compliant use of AI and confidential information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • CSPO certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
