Description

  • Agree requirements with the Product team and translate business needs into deliverable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate on technical designs and advise whether requirements should be met through Sterling product configuration or custom Java components.
  • Design, develop, and maintain IBM Sterling OMS and Sterling Intelligent Promising configuration.
  • Implement and customise workflows, sourcing rules, and fulfilment logic for order routing and fulfilment.
  • Integrate OMS and SIP with external systems and data sources through APIs, queues, and event-driven interfaces.
  • Improve inventory visibility and sourcing optimisation through SIP configuration and Java-based customisation.
  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Cucumber and Java to validate order flows and sourcing outcomes.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and contribute to the migration from Jenkins to GitHub Actions.
  • Troubleshoot performance, integration, and workflow issues in Sterling OMS and SIP environments.
  • Work with functional configuration teams to ensure custom code aligns with business rules and system configuration.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of Sterling OMS architecture, workflows, data models, and extensibility points.
  • Working knowledge of Sterling Intelligent Promising configuration, sourcing logic, and OMS integration.
  • Solid hands-on engineering experience with Java, including core and enterprise Java.
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, and SQL for data handling, configuration, and integration.
  • Experience with Cucumber in Java or equivalent test automation tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD using GitHub Actions for automated build, test, and deployment.
  • Experience with version control using Git and GitHub.
  • Preferred experience with SIP modules such as inventory visibility, promising, and fulfilment optimiser.
  • Familiarity with API-based orchestration between OMS, SIP, and external fulfilment or inventory systems.
  • Exposure to containerised deployments such as Docker or Kubernetes and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
  • Understanding of monitoring, alerting, and observability tools such as New Relic and PagerDuty.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments and with distributed teams.
