Description

  • Support initial customer engagements to shape technical strategy, requirements, and Methods BDT capability discussions.
  • Own the technical solution for customer needs, ensuring designs are feasible, commercially viable, and aligned to specification.
  • Create cost models to support solution implementation and ongoing delivery.
  • Manage risks associated with solution development and implementation.
  • Write and review technical sections of proposal documentation and tender responses.
  • Lead presentations of technical and commercial solutions alongside the sales team.
  • Provide technical support during contract negotiations and solution development.
  • Ensure effective handover of technical solutions to delivery teams and programme managers.
  • Contribute to the development of Methods BDT technical solutions, capabilities, and innovation based on industry developments.
  • Perform quality assurance on technical solutions proposed or implemented by architects and engineers.
  • Design complex solutions across multiple sites, including hosted data centre infrastructures.
  • Support business development, solution architecture, and sales teams with presales activity.
  • Mentor and guide team members, and support managed services and delivery engineers as an SME.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in a customer-facing role delivering and supporting Microsoft-based technology solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience across Microsoft technologies, with SME-level expertise in agreed areas.
  • Strong ability to create detailed technical designs and implement solutions independently.
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Cloud Platform services, security, capabilities, applications, best practices, methodologies, and processes.
  • Experience leading technical workshops and solution discussions across multiple technologies.
  • Commercial awareness with experience creating proposals and drafting tender responses.
  • Significant presales experience discussing solutions and technologies with customers.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to customers and stakeholders.
  • Proven collaboration and technical leadership experience in cross-team projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Effective design and proposal documentation skills.
  • SC clearance or willingness to obtain it.
  • Microsoft Expert Level exams and certifications.
  • Subject Matter Expert exams and certifications.
  • Willingness to complete Microsoft training, exams, and accreditations relevant to the role.
