Description

  • Develop deep user empathy by reviewing issues, tickets, documentation, interviews, and quantitative data.
  • Understand the product’s technical mechanics well enough to develop instincts for what is easy or hard to build.
  • Define strategies that address clusters of user needs in thoughtful, actionable ways.
  • Write product docs that clearly frame user needs for designers and engineers.
  • Steward projects forward by maintaining focus, momentum, and appropriately adjusting scope.
  • Balance technical constraints with user experience considerations throughout product development.
  • Follow up on shipped work by evaluating outcomes quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Collaborate with the broader team by giving and receiving feedback and pitching product ideas.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in product management or equivalent in-house software product work.
  • A technical background, ideally in data analysis, data engineering, or software engineering with databases experience.
  • Experience with the basics of data stacks, with prior PM experience in these areas also considered.
  • Mid-to-senior product management experience; this is not a junior PM role.
  • Ability to work asynchronously in a globally distributed team.
  • Strong written communication skills for remote collaboration.
  • Ability to think systematically, with attention to detail and big-picture perspective.
  • Strong product sense and appreciation for clean, usable product design.
  • Comfort working with enough synchronous overlap for US West Coast collaboration.
  • Applicants must not be farther east than UTC+3 for this role; this restriction is non-negotiable.
  • Experience on platform teams and thinking through APIs may be needed depending on the match.
