Description

  • Build and expand Mercury’s infrastructure platform for the growing engineering organization.
  • Design platform capabilities that are secure by default, observable by default, and usable by both engineers and AI agents.
  • Maintain and improve networking, container orchestration, and AWS infrastructure.
  • Deliver infrastructure projects by breaking down complex initiatives and defining strategy through RFCs and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to support their AWS needs and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Write code and contribute to cloud-native open-source technologies when appropriate.
  • Operate, debug, and continuously improve production systems while shipping changes frequently.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working with AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, file systems, containers, and other low-level operating system foundations.
  • Interest in cloud-native open-source technologies and comfort contributing code upstream.
  • At least 2 years of experience writing detailed technical documentation, RFCs, and technical specifications.
  • 2+ years of experience working in large Terraform environments with contributions from many engineers (preferred).
  • 2+ years of software development experience (preferred).
  • Experience operating in regulated environments such as HITRUST or SOC 2, including security and compliance practices (preferred).
  • Curiosity, strong fundamentals, and willingness to investigate and solve difficult infrastructure problems.

Benefits

  • US base salary range of $122,400–$158,400.
  • Canadian base salary range of $115,700–$149,700 CAD.
  • Equity through stock options or RSUs.
