Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and components using Java.
  • Contribute to the evolution and unification of enterprise data platform ecosystems.
  • Support the migration and transition of existing components into the target platform.
  • Analyse existing applications, integrations, dependencies, and data flows.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams across a large organisation.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Participate in technical refinement, estimation, and solution design discussions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues in distributed systems.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and blockers proactively.

Requirements

  • Solid professional experience in Java backend development.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs.
  • Good understanding of object-oriented programming, clean code, and software design principles.
  • Experience with Spring or Spring Boot, or similar Java backend frameworks.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with Git and standard development workflows.
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive complex technical tasks independently.
  • Comfortable working in large, complex organisations with multiple teams and dependencies.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
  • Experience with data platforms, data integration, or data-heavy environments is preferred.
  • Experience with microservices architectures is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
