Description

  • Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines that reliably move and transform millions of daily data points.
  • Build and maintain production data workflows using dbt, ClickHouse, and open-source orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL across SQL Server and Postgres, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Support the migration from Azure Databricks to a more open, AWS-based data stack with minimal disruption to daily delivery.
  • Build proofs of concept to evaluate new tools and patterns and share findings with the team.
  • Use AI coding assistants to speed up pipeline development, SQL generation, debugging, testing, and documentation while validating outputs before release.
  • Implement testing, validation, monitoring, observability, and CI/CD practices to keep pipelines accurate and reliable.
  • Work across upstream and downstream systems to ensure clean end-to-end data delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineers in North America and India through code reviews and cross-team communication.

Requirements

  • 7–8+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL, with hands-on ownership of production data pipelines.
  • Strong SQL and RDBMS experience with SQL Server and Postgres, including schema design, performance tuning, and complex query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, ClickHouse, and open-source pipeline or orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or a similar language for building and automating data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and effective prompting, with the ability to verify and refine AI-generated code and queries.
  • Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform; AWS is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort with Git, code reviews, and writing tested, maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses or lakehouse patterns such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift is a plus.
  • Experience with Kafka or other streaming / real-time data technologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is a plus.
  • Previous experience in Advertising, Media, or Market Research is a plus.
