Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Node/TypeScript.
  • Design and implement REST APIs and GraphQL where appropriate.
  • Model PostgreSQL data and protect data integrity and performance.
  • Review code, including AI-generated code, for quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues.
  • Contribute to team standards, tooling, and architecture.
  • Work closely with clients, product, and other engineers in a delivery team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience with strong Node/TypeScript.
  • Solid experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
  • Strong PostgreSQL skills and relational data modeling experience.
  • Experience building on AWS, such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, and S3.
  • Understanding of service architecture and distributed systems.
  • Good testing habits.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, agile consulting environment.
  • Experience integrating LLMs or building AI-backed services (extra credit).
  • Experience with event-driven systems and message queues (extra credit).
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience (extra credit).
  • Depth in another ecosystem such as Python or Go (extra credit).
  • Open-source work you can share (extra credit).
