Description

  • Work as part of a small cross-functional XP team to install Imogen in client cloud environments.
  • Partner with client infrastructure, security, infosec, and IT teams to deploy the platform.
  • Pair program with engineers and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and support technical discovery for customer systems and cloud infrastructure.
  • Adapt Imogen to client public cloud estates and infrastructure requirements.
  • Apply and evolve XP practices including pair programming, test-driven development, refactoring, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Adapt engineering practices for working with AI tools, agents, and code generation workflows.
  • Help onboard client developers, partner developers, and new Mechanical Orchard team members.
  • Continuously learn emerging technologies and contribute through mentorship, tech talks, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Experience as a consultant or in a client-facing technical role.
  • Experience managing infrastructure and using infrastructure as code as a software professional.
  • Experience working in a team environment with exposure to or passion for XP practices such as pair programming and automation.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience such as a coding bootcamp or similar technical training.
  • Strong strategic thinking, technical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and empathy for working with developers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Comfort with pair programming as a default way of working.
  • Experience with or demonstrated passion for cloud infrastructure and related tooling.
  • Comfort working with external customers and troubleshooting issues with customer network, infosec, and support teams (preferred).
  • Experience building and deploying to cloud infrastructure with at least one infrastructure as code tool and one public cloud provider (preferred).
  • Experience developing a platform-as-a-service product (preferred).
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm, Docker and/or Nix, and bash, Go, or similar languages (preferred).
  • Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
  • Willingness to travel periodically and collaborate across North America and Europe time zones.
