Description

  • Design and evolve ML engineering tooling for automated prompt tuning, content feedback loops, and model benchmarking.
  • Develop scalable, reproducible infrastructure to evaluate and optimize models, prompts, and AI approaches.
  • Partner with Data Science, Clinical Prompt Engineering, Software Engineering, and Product teams to turn model-improvement opportunities into technical solutions.
  • Translate ambiguous ML and clinical AI requirements into methodologies, interfaces, and implementation plans.
  • Investigate complex ML engineering challenges and create practical solutions where established frameworks are insufficient.
  • Establish reusable engineering patterns, standards, and best practices for ML experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and cross-functional partners without direct people-management responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in machine learning engineering, software engineering, data science engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience designing and implementing production-quality machine learning systems, tooling, or infrastructure.
  • Experience with Python and modern software engineering practices.
  • Ability to independently solve complex technical problems in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience collaborating with Data Science, Engineering, Product, or other cross-functional technical teams.
  • Experience developing automated prompt optimization or prompt evaluation systems (preferred).
  • Experience building LLM benchmarking frameworks or evaluation infrastructure, human or expert feedback loops, model observability, experimentation platforms, or MLOps (preferred).
  • Experience creating reusable ML engineering frameworks or standards adopted across teams (preferred).
  • Strong technical communication and ability to influence decisions through expertise (preferred).

  • Salary range of $154,000–$216,000 plus bonus eligibility.
  • Remote or hybrid work options, with Seattle preferred.
