Description

  • Maintain and revise complex operational process flows, procedures, and playbooks for internal and external use.
  • Identify inefficiencies and improve quality outcomes for regulatory and dispute management processes.
  • Resolve moderate to complex dispute issues independently with minimal supervision.
  • Manage inbound escalations from multiple sources through resolution and escalate processing issues to product and engineering teams as needed.
  • Coordinate with issuing bank partners to ensure compliance with monitoring, reporting, and dispute resolution requirements.
  • Analyze quality assurance outcomes and update procedures and process flows accordingly.
  • Communicate dispute trends, best practices, and program updates with peers, leadership, customers, and external partners.
  • Support required reporting and manage ongoing communications for Marqeta programs.
  • Work with external partners to ensure quality standards are met and support learning and development efforts.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in financial services, payments, or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of card network regulations, including VISA, Mastercard, and SMS, related to chargeback processing.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. payment regulations, data privacy, and other regulatory requirements for dispute management.
  • Experience working independently on high-volume cases or projects while maintaining high quality.
  • Experience in direct customer interaction and the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
  • Demonstrated success working across cross-functional, virtual teams.
  • Superior communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written, and email communication.
  • Positive, adaptable, resourceful, inquisitive, self-starting, and able to work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • VISA Network Chargeback Certification is preferred.
  • Experience with EU payment regulations such as GDPR and PSD2 is preferred.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience is preferred.
