Description

  • Mentor data engineers through code reviews, architectural decisions, and technical planning.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure data pipelines using dbt, Apache Airflow, and SQL.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to launch customer-facing analytics capabilities.
  • Partner with DevOps to optimize cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS-managed services.
  • Build and maintain integrations with MySQL, SQL Server, and OLAP systems for product insights and internal operations.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain platform reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and professional development for the Data Engineering team.
  • Evaluate new tools, including AI-assisted coding platforms such as Claude and Windsurf, to improve engineering workflows.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and data services.
  • Familiarity with MySQL, SQL Server, and OLAP databases.
  • Experience using Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Expertise in modern data tooling, particularly dbt and Apache Airflow.
  • Experience operating reliable and performant pipelines in production environments.
  • Experience building data platforms that support both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the country where the role is hired, with no visa sponsorship available.
  • Must be able to work remotely from an approved location in Canada, the UK, or one of the approved U.S. states.

  • Target base annual salary of $170,000 - $210,000.
