Description

  • Own and evolve Mark43's internal developer platform with a focus on reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.
  • Build self-service platform capabilities such as Infrastructure-as-Code modules, GitOps workflows, golden paths, and onboarding templates.
  • Improve developer experience by reducing friction in local development, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and debugging workflows.
  • Design and optimize pipeline-as-code systems to improve build performance, reliability, and feedback cycles.
  • Drive adoption of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code best practices across the organization.
  • Lead initiatives that improve operational excellence, including system reliability, resilience, and incident response.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
  • Own and deliver large cross-team platform initiatives that shape how engineers build and operate software.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, and/or Developer Experience.
  • Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes and containerized systems.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
  • Experience building and optimizing CI/CD systems and pipeline-as-code workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve developer experience and platform usability at scale.
  • Strong systems thinking, including tradeoffs between reliability, cost, and developer velocity.
  • Understanding of security and compliance best practices in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with defining SLOs, alerting strategies, and instrumentation best practices (preferred).
  • Experience with developer platforms and modern build systems (preferred).
  • Experience improving local development environments such as devcontainers, Docker workflows, Tilt, or Skaffold (preferred).
  • Exposure to FinOps practices and cost optimization (preferred).
  • Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into developer workflows, such as AI-assisted debugging, incident triage, automated incident summaries, or developer assistants (preferred).
  • Knowledge of compliance and data governance requirements in regulated environments (preferred).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the country where the role is hired, and Mark43 cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
  • Candidates must be able to work remotely from an approved location in Canada, the UK, or one of the listed U.S. states.
