Description

  • Implement and maintain preventive, detective, and monitoring controls across business and operational processes.
  • Use SQL to test controls, retrieve audit evidence, and investigate exceptions across large datasets.
  • Develop Python scripts and automated routines for recurring control testing, exception detection, and reproducible reporting.
  • Build control-monitoring dashboards and KPI reports using tools such as Tableau.
  • Translate control requirements and process designs into automated checks and validation logic.
  • Define test cases, measure exceptions, and document whether controls operate effectively.
  • Analyze workflows and data to identify control gaps, failure points, manual dependencies, and operational risks.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Product, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Technology, and Data teams to embed controls into workflows.
  • Document control logic, test procedures, data sources, and results for internal and external review.
  • Track exceptions through remediation and retest controls to confirm closure.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in risk or data analytics, controls testing, internal audit analytics, data analysis, or a related technical field.
  • Strong hands-on SQL skills, including writing and optimizing queries against large datasets.
  • Working proficiency in Python for control automation, validation scripts, and data analysis with tools such as pandas.
  • Experience building dashboards and reports with Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or a similar BI tool.
  • Ability to convert process or control requirements into automated, testable logic.
  • Understanding of internal controls and frameworks such as COSO, including design and operating-effectiveness testing (preferred).
  • Strong analytical judgment with the ability to identify anomalies, quantify risk, and distinguish signal from noise.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and create repeatable, documented processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical findings to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Experience in fintech, lending, payments, or regulated financial services (strongly preferred); familiarity with data pipelines, Git, or workflow automation is a plus.
