Description

  • Manage removal and deportation defense cases from start to finish under attorney supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and case timelines.
  • Organize exhibits, court files, and evidence with precision.
  • Communicate with clients, EOIR immigration courts, and DHS/OPLA throughout the case process.
  • Draft high-quality motions and other legal filings for immigration court.
  • Support case preparation for asylum, removal, SIJS, bond, and adjustment of status matters.
  • Analyze criminal and biographical backgrounds, including FBI and FOIA records.
  • Assist detained clients and handle related court proceedings and forms.
  • Translate complex legal concepts from English to Spanish in an empathetic manner for clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in court proceedings or removal defense.
  • Experience with motions, adjustment of status (AOS), assisting detained clients, and immigration court procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of asylum, removal, SIJS, and bond request forms.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish at B2 to C1 level.
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts from English to Spanish and draft formal motions in English for immigration judges.
  • Excellent legal research skills.
  • Advanced technical writing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing criminal and biographical backgrounds, including FBI and FOIA materials.
  • Meticulous organization of court files and evidence.
