Description

  • Work with clients to understand business goals for AI initiatives and translate them into sustainable technical solutions.
  • Guide and mentor engineering teams through technical standards, code reviews, and product vision contributions.
  • Lead architectural design for client-specific solutions and implement them hands-on with attention to scalability and maintainability.
  • Design, develop, and integrate APIs, data pipelines, and end-to-end infrastructure across systems.
  • Conduct technical spikes to evaluate new technologies, methods, and AI approaches.
  • Optimize performance to make AI models useful, scalable, and maintainable in production.
  • Contribute across diverse project needs, including API design, real-time technical support, and DevOps tasks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with backend teams, frontend teams, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical requirements, tradeoffs, and implementation strategies clearly to internal teams and client partners.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in consulting or on an in-house cross-functional product team.
  • Full-stack engineering experience in web or native mobile development.
  • Experience with Python and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps.
  • Experience with LLMs and RAG architecture.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures.
  • Data engineering experience that supports AI implementations.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect, build, maintain, and scale modern software on multiple platforms.
  • Experience designing APIs and writing API specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for working directly with clients and presenting technical decisions.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical requirements to other engineers.
  • Strong security awareness and ability to identify potential risks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and self-management skills.
  • Comfort with occasional travel to the company’s HQ in Minnesota.
  • Preferred: experience with TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or training machine learning models from scratch.
  • Preferred: experience with advanced prompt engineering techniques.
  • Preferred: familiarity with emerging languages and platforms such as Go, Rust, Alexa, or Unity.
  • Preferred: ability to speak, write, or educate publicly about technical topics.
  • Preferred: publicly released personal products or apps.
  • Preferred: strong technical illustration or diagramming skills.
