Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain internal financial controls across payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
  • Own the Philippines statutory compliance calendar, including BIR filings, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and payroll tax obligations.
  • Liaise with the external UK accountant on UK compliance matters, including HMRC, Companies House, VAT, and year-end reporting.
  • Manage vendor master file integrity and payment authorization workflows.
  • Own the payroll reconciliation process across all entities and independently verify payroll provider accuracy and compliance.
  • Implement invoice approval workflows, three-way matching, and payment authorization thresholds.
  • Review accounts receivable aging, follow up on overdue balances, and define credit and collections policies.
  • Own the monthly financial close process and produce monthly income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement reports.
  • Lead budget-to-actual reviews, quarterly forecasting, and the annual budgeting process with the CEO.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and maintain a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a finance controller, senior accountant, or equivalent role.
  • Philippines CPA qualification is required.
  • Proven experience building or formalising financial controls in a growing business.
  • Deep knowledge of Philippines statutory requirements, including BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and payroll tax obligations.
  • Experience working with or overseeing third-party payroll providers.
  • Exposure to international or multi-entity finance, particularly UK operations, is preferred.
  • Experience working directly with a founder or CEO in a lean finance function is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Solid grasp of IFRS/PFRS accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.
  • Competence with Excel or Google Sheets for financial modelling and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving environment.
