Description

  • Design scalable, maintainable, and secure service architectures.
  • Identify opportunities for platform-wide improvements, new service development, and technical debt reduction.
  • Contribute to long-term platform vision, architectural planning, and engineering standards.
  • Build backend services using C# or TypeScript for web and background worker applications.
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases and support platform data needs.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Apply security best practices across applications and infrastructure.
  • Improve code quality through strong code reviews, testing, architecture, and deployment practices.
  • Serve as a go-to expert for debugging, troubleshooting, and system reliability.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver platform solutions.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of progressive software engineering experience, with leadership experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern software development practices and architectures.
  • Proficiency or ability to ramp up quickly in typed, functional programming with C# or TypeScript.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; PostgreSQL expertise preferred.
  • Experience designing secure, scalable, and maintainable platforms.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Expertise in application and infrastructure security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of testing and automation practices.
  • Experience with performance optimization for reliability and scalability.
  • Strong interest in AI/ML applications in production systems.
  • Experience working in ambiguous, complex problem spaces with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for different audiences.
  • Passion for mentoring and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.

Benefits

  • $135,000–$180,000 USD salary range for candidates located in the US.
  • Market-based, data-driven compensation approach with bi-annual compensation reviews.
  • Some roles are structured as On Target Earnings, while others are salary only.
  • Permanent team members are eligible to participate in various benefits plans.
  • Fully remote opportunities are available for select positions.
  • Office locations include Boston, Vancouver, Chicago, and Vancouver, WA.
