Description

  • Own and evolve foundational TMS platform services end to end, including architecture, reliability, and roadmap.
  • Lead backend architecture decisions by defining service boundaries, writing ADRs, and shaping scalable, resilient designs.
  • Design, maintain, and document versioned REST APIs consumed by internal teams and AI agents.
  • Own non-functional requirements such as performance, observability, security, and availability across platform services.
  • Take responsibility for services from development through deployment, monitoring, and on-call support.
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and architectural guidance.
  • Raise engineering standards in testing, code quality, incident response, and continuous delivery.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines and drive deployment reliability, operational excellence, and platform security.
  • Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to shape the platform roadmap and technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
  • Deep expertise in C#, .NET Core / .NET 8+, ASP.NET Web API, and microservices architecture.
  • Proven experience owning and maintaining production services, including schema migrations, API versioning, backward compatibility, and long-lived service maintenance.
  • Strong experience with distributed systems concepts, including event-driven architecture, message queues, sagas, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
  • Strong experience with AI developer tools, including building and using custom agents, skills, and instructions.
  • Deep proficiency with relational databases such as MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL, including query design, schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated experience making and documenting architectural decisions through ADRs, system design, and trade-off analysis.
  • Hands-on DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure.
  • Experience designing secure, versioned REST APIs, including OAuth 2.0, API key management, and rate limiting.
  • Some frontend exposure with Vue.js and/or TypeScript is preferred.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers through reviews and design sessions is required.
  • Strong communication skills and English fluency are required.
  • Experience with workflow automation frameworks such as Temporal or Inngest is a plus.
  • Experience with observability practices such as structured logging, distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry, alerting, and SLO/SLA ownership is a plus.
  • Experience with service mesh, API gateway patterns, or platform engineering at scale is a plus.
