Description

  • Conduct Zoom and phone interviews with clients to gather information for R&D tax credit studies.
  • Gather and analyze financial statements and tax returns to support credit eligibility and calculations.
  • Prepare R&D tax credit workbooks, study quotes, and calculation support for client meetings.
  • Communicate R&D tax credit laws and eligibility rules to clients and consult with managers as needed.
  • Research and assess professional backgrounds relevant to R&D tax credit eligibility.
  • Maintain client statuses, workflows, and follow-up actions to keep deadlines on track.
  • Prepare Form 6765 using CCH Axcess and Form 8974 using PDF Editor.
  • Review calculations and studies prepared by the R&D tax team.
  • Coordinate with the Income Tax team, payroll providers, and PEOs to ensure proper credit disbursement.
  • Research tax law changes impacting the R&D tax credit and assist with billing to ensure accurate, timely completion.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-time experience in corporate tax.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to execute a high volume of nuanced tasks.
  • Ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment with varied responsibilities.
  • Strict adherence to deadlines and comfort working within government filing timelines.
  • Must be willing to work core business hours in the local time zone, approximately 8am to 5pm.
  • Licensed CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting (preferred).
  • Knowledge of R&D tax incentives and eligibility parameters (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Federal R&D Tax Credit Form 6765, IRC Section 41, and IRC Section 174 (preferred).
  • Comfort navigating tax software and tools used to prepare R&D tax claims (preferred).
  • Experience in a fully remote, people-centric culture or a high-growth startup environment (preferred).

  • Expected base pay range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
