Description

  • Participate in electrical control design and solution development for system integration projects.
  • Prepare estimates for controls scope, including labor and materials pricing.
  • Create electrical controls schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, push-button station layouts, safety circuits, and related hardware documents.
  • Work with project managers, controls managers, vendors, and installers to clarify scope, negotiate pricing, and support project execution.
  • Visit customer sites for information gathering, project kickoffs, and pre-sales reviews.
  • Support and help improve department processes, including CAD libraries, operating procedures, software tools, and design methods.
  • Maintain current knowledge of electrical safety standards, machine safety, machine wiring, and control panel design requirements.
  • Follow safety guidelines, use appropriate PPE, and maintain a safety-first approach on all work.
  • Track project schedules, requirements, specifications, and equipment functionality while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of controls estimation experience required; 8-10 years preferred.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, trade school equivalent in PLC/Controls Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and providing updates and reports as needed.
  • Knowledge of designing, commissioning, or troubleshooting control systems such as Rockwell, Siemens, GE, and Square D.
  • Knowledge of industrial controls networks such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet is a plus.
  • Proficiency drafting electrical designs in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with performance management.
  • Ability to manage direct reports, third-party suppliers/vendors, and employees on assigned projects.
  • Ability to guide electrical installers and collaborate with project and program managers.
  • Regular travel to KPI COEs up to 25% of the time is required.
