Description

  • Build backend systems using the Ruby on Rails stack.
  • Translate product goals and feature requests into working software.
  • Design, implement, and deliver large technical projects as part of a team.
  • Add new APIs for front-end interfaces in the Ruby on Rails application.
  • Investigate bugs with partners to ensure customer payments go through smoothly.
  • Improve system reliability and observability using monitoring tools and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product managers to critically evaluate requirements before implementation.
  • Review code, provide constructive feedback, and look for refactoring opportunities.
  • Help improve the codebase and maintain high software quality through thorough testing.

Requirements

  • Strong experience building backend systems using Ruby on Rails in production environments.
  • Solid experience with other backend web frameworks is welcome as an alternative to Ruby experience.
  • Experience building scalable and performant web applications.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Ability to design data models and system architectures.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including documenting decisions clearly and concisely.
  • Experience with common web vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them.
  • Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with TypeScript, Vue.js, or React is preferred.
  • Experience with payments or payment systems is preferred.
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs in a secure and fault-tolerant manner is preferred.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog is preferred.
