Description

  • Assist companies with multi-state unclaimed property matters, including assessments, audit defense, and voluntary disclosure agreements.
  • Prepare clients for examinations by explaining upcoming requests and the overall process.
  • Represent clients in discussions with auditors about examination status and document requests.
  • Track client requests and submissions while assisting with record reviews, including tax documents, accounting records, and policies and procedures.
  • Perform data analysis to identify potential unclaimed property risks and exposures.
  • Develop and present strategies to mitigate unclaimed property exposure.
  • Draft final deliverables and reports for client and state submission.
  • Travel up to 30% as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of unclaimed property professional experience, with consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience with unclaimed property consulting engagements such as audit defense, voluntary disclosure agreement programs, and policy and procedures work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, professional deliverables on schedule and budget.
  • Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of complex unclaimed property concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively in changing circumstances.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, engineering, information systems, or a similar field.
