Description

  • Make rapid improvements to an existing Java and Angular codebase to solve production problems.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Help establish a more mature software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Gain ownership of loyalty platform integration points, including live APIs, batch processing, and queue-based processing.
  • Participate in design sessions and collaborate with product owners and team members to meet acceptance criteria.
  • Build and maintain configuration and business logic rule documentation.
  • Coach and mentor other team members.
  • Promote good coding practices and design patterns across the team.
  • Estimate task and project scope accurately.
  • Work with other groups and third parties to complete work and resolve gaps.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing applications and components using Java and Spring.
  • Prefer experience with JDK 11+ and Spring Boot.
  • 3+ years of experience developing RESTful services using JSON.
  • Experience developing microservice cloud applications on Oracle, AWS, or Azure.
  • 3+ years of experience developing SQL multi-table queries, inserts, and updates.
  • Prefer experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience tuning SQL statements using execution explain plans.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices such as Scrum.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Preferred experience in loyalty, accounting, or banking applications.
  • Preferred experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Kafka Streams.
  • Preferred experience building Docker containers and configuring Kubernetes clusters using kubectl and Docker for Desktop.
  • Preferred experience with build management tools such as Bitbucket/Git, Gradle, and Bamboo.
