Description

  • Own core authentication and authorization features end-to-end, including design, implementation, rollout, and observability.
  • Help extract authentication and authorization paths from the legacy monolith into dedicated microservices.
  • Build and maintain shared SDKs and contracts that enable internal teams to adopt IAM services quickly.
  • Collaborate with the Organizations & Accounts team on org-scoped identity, multi-account SSO, and enterprise account models.
  • Partner with Platform Integrity & Protection, Security, and Compliance on secure account protection patterns.
  • Improve IAM service reliability and performance through metrics, alerts, debugging, on-call support, and incident reviews.
  • Define and refine platform standards for authentication, authorization, audit logging, error semantics, and integration patterns.

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience building or operating web services or APIs backed by relational databases and/or caches such as MySQL, Postgres, or Redis.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts such as sessions, tokens, OAuth, SSO, MFA, and RBAC.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows including code review, testing, deployments, and on-call support.
  • Experience shipping and supporting production backend or full-stack systems.
  • Strong debugging skills with the ability to reason about data models, API design, concurrency, and failure modes.
  • Experience with identity protocols or IdPs such as SAML, OIDC, SCIM, or API key management is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-native infrastructure such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Kong is a plus.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or internal logging and metrics systems is a plus.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $116,000 to $174,000 USD in US locations.
  • Participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan.
  • Equity may be included in the total compensation package.
  • Sign-on payments may be included in the total compensation package.
  • Comprehensive health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits, subject to eligibility.
  • Up to 10% travel for onboarding, partner work, team meetings, and industry events.
