Description

  • Design, build, and maintain systems that support other engineering teams across Klaviyo.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to design systems and write high-quality code.
  • Create infrastructure and operate large-scale systems in a production environment.
  • Build and scale features end to end from scratch.
  • Work on large-scale distributed systems and databases for core platform functionality and analytics.
  • Support high-volume data processing and storage systems.
  • Contribute to a real-time data platform built on AWS.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud computing environment.
  • Experience with OLTP or OLAP databases.
  • Experience with high-volume data processing and storage systems.
  • Experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform or a similar infrastructure-as-code tool.
  • Experience using Linux operating systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Ability to learn continuously, adapt in a high-growth environment, and solve difficult problems.
  • Experience with AWS, Python, Kubernetes, MySQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg, Terraform, or Airflow is relevant to the team tech stack.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
  • Preferred: experience across different languages and engineering disciplines.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $116,000 to $174,000 USD.
  • Annual cash bonus plan.
  • Equity as part of the total compensation package.
