Description

  • Analyze, optimize, and secure backend and third-party dependencies across the codebase.
  • Build frameworks for evaluating dependency risk and maintaining a healthy, performant dependency graph.
  • Lead the planning and execution of major software releases and platform upgrades from design through production rollout.
  • Drive improvements in developer productivity metrics such as PR CI speed, code review turnaround, and commit velocity.
  • Reduce engineering toil and improve efficiency across the organization.
  • Contribute to engineering standards for code quality, dependency hygiene, and platform reliability.
  • Lead efforts to apply AI within the platform lifecycle and use AI tooling to improve development work.
  • Partner with engineers, security teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and coordinate platform changes.
  • Proactively monitor platform health and reliability and resolve complex issues before they become incidents.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and a focus on clean, maintainable, well-architected code.
  • Comfort reasoning about distributed systems, dependency graphs, and platform-level impacts across teams.
  • Ability to move across the stack, including Python, Go, and infrastructure automation work.
  • Experience experimenting with or using AI in work or personal projects.
  • Extreme ownership and a proactive mindset toward engineering excellence.
  • Technologies used include Python, Django, FastAPI, Go, React, TypeScript, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Buildkite, Pants, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Claude, Cursor, and Copilot.
  • Experience with major framework upgrades, build systems, or developer productivity tooling is a plus.
  • AI fluency includes responsible use of AI with privacy, security, bias awareness, and human-in-the-loop practices.
  • This role may require up to 10% travel.

  • Base salary range of $148,000 to $222,000 USD for US locations.
  • Participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan.
