Description

  • Lead and develop a distributed platform and data engineering team, including coaching, mentorship, and career development.
  • Define the platform operating model and team structure to support product engineering teams as internal customers.
  • Set and execute the platform strategy for security, scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.
  • Co-own the multi-year platform engineering roadmap and translate business priorities into delivery plans.
  • Evolve shared services, the API gateway, integration layer, and internal developer platform across all product lines.
  • Establish and enforce API-first architecture standards across platform capabilities.
  • Drive cloud-native architecture decisions using AWS and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Lead the integration platform that supports onboarding acquired businesses and reducing time-to-integration.
  • Design and deliver the data platform, including data lakes, pipelines, analytics infrastructure, and AI/ML foundations.
  • Oversee observability, delivery execution, and FinOps governance across platform infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in cloud-native platform engineering on AWS, including Terraform or Pulumi, Kubernetes or ECS, Kafka, and API gateway patterns.
  • Proven experience designing and operating shared platform services in a complex, multi-product enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Hands-on background in data platform engineering, including data lakes, ELT pipelines, and familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, Athena, Glue, and EMR.
  • Experience building AI/ML infrastructure such as feature stores, model serving, MLOps pipelines, and LLM platform services.
  • Strong understanding of observability practices, including OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, SLOs, and error budgets.
  • Security-first experience with enterprise security practices, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and zero-trust architecture.
  • Extensive engineering leadership experience building and scaling distributed teams of 60+ people.
  • Experience operating in an acquisitive software business and leading M&A technical integration.
  • Familiarity with modern delivery frameworks such as SAFe, Shape Up, or equivalent.
  • Strong FinOps capability, including cloud cost governance and commercial framing of infrastructure investment.
  • Practical experience scaling AI-native development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
  • Understanding of agentic software delivery patterns, including autonomous agents, human-in-the-loop workflows, and AI-assisted code review.
  • Ability to define governance frameworks for AI-augmented development while managing code quality, IP protection, and data security risks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with executive, commercial, and board audiences.
  • Experience partnering with product, commercial, and finance leadership in a PE-backed, high-growth software environment.
