Description

  • Lead FAA certification and regulatory approval processes to ensure full compliance with federal aviation standards.
  • Serve as the primary executive liaison with the FAA and other government agencies throughout regulatory milestones.
  • Establish safety, compliance, and operational frameworks that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Recruit, hire, and lead the foundational executive team across operations, safety, compliance, maintenance, and finance.
  • Define the organizational structure, accountabilities, reporting lines, and performance standards needed for approval and scale.
  • Develop and execute the operational roadmap from planning through launch and early-stage growth.
  • Create scalable standard operating procedures, governance structures, and systems to support future expansion.
  • Oversee operational partnerships, vendor relationships, and readiness milestones while balancing cost discipline and safety.
  • Shape service standards, customer experience, and brand-aligned operational delivery with key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the senior executive interface with the board and investors, including strategic updates, performance reporting, and fundraising support.

Requirements

  • Deep commercial aviation regulatory experience, including significant involvement in FAA certification processes.
  • Proven executive leadership experience as CEO, President, COO, VP Operations, or General Manager in aviation or similarly regulated, safety-critical industries.
  • Experience overseeing organizational development and launch activities, including team formation, systems development, and regulatory processes.
  • Strong command of FAA regulations, safety management systems (SMS), and compliance frameworks for commercial aviation operations.
  • Exceptional judgment and credibility in complex regulatory environments and in building trust with government agencies.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-ambiguity settings with changing priorities.
  • High credibility with technical teams, operational staff, board members, and investors.
  • Strategic and operational versatility, with the ability to think broadly while driving detailed execution.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and relocate as operational needs require.
  • Direct leadership experience in FAA certification processes for aviation operations is preferred.
  • Background in aviation or service industries with a focus on customer experience and brand differentiation is preferred.
  • Experience in private aviation, charter operations, or emerging aviation business models is preferred.
  • Investor-facing leadership experience, including fundraising and stakeholder management, is preferred.
  • Track record of scaling organizations from startup to mature operational phases is highly valued.
  • Prior CEO, President, or COO experience with full P&L and operational accountability is highly valued.
  • Experience across multi-site or multi-certificate operating environments is highly valued.
