Description

  • Manage the income tax compliance and tax provision process, including quarterly and annual ASC 740 provisions supporting tax, accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Work with tax and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely income tax reporting in compliance with ASC 740.
  • Review the federal consolidated tax return, supporting statements, and related disclosures.
  • Research tax developments and advise on risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain tax working papers, including depreciation schedules, book-to-tax adjustments, tax reconciliations, deferred tax assets and liabilities, uncertain tax positions, and tax disclosures.
  • Coordinate with the external CPA firm on federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns.
  • Develop, maintain, and update income tax policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local income tax laws and the company’s tax calendar.
  • Prepare tax account reconciliations and journal entries to support the month-end close process.
  • Assist with tax audits, inquiries, notices, sales tax filings, business license renewals, and other special projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the income tax reporting process.
  • Be available for late-night, weekend, or holiday coverage during year-end, quarterly, and monthly close periods when permitted by law.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of corporate income tax compliance experience, preferably at a large public accounting firm.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740 and tax provision preparation.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with corporate federal, state, and local income tax compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical ability.
  • Ability to interpret complex tax data and financial information.
  • Ability to work with external parties such as tax preparers, auditors, and tax jurisdiction authorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Initiative and willingness to drive process improvements and optimize compliance preparation.
  • Knowledge of U.S. sales and use tax regulations and multi-state tax compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Comfort with apportionment calculations and complex book-to-tax adjustments.
  • Experience with tax provision software such as CorpTax, OneSource, or GoSystems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of R&D tax credits and transfer pricing preferred.
  • Experience with international income tax compliance, including Form 5471, GILTI, FDII, foreign withholding, and overseas tax returns preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SaaS and/or cybersecurity industries preferred.
