Description

  • Analyze player behavior and product changes across onboarding, retention, monetization, progression, LiveOps, and game economy health.
  • Run funnel, cohort, and segmentation analyses to identify friction points, drop-offs, and spending patterns.
  • Translate ambiguous product questions into structured analyses, clear findings, and actionable recommendations.
  • Work hands-on with the AWS-based analytics stack to create, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines.
  • Write cost- and performance-aware SQL to build analytical views for broader team access.
  • QA data pipelines and telemetry, including broken tracking, inconsistent definitions, and event anomalies.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design to define tracking plans and telemetry before feature launches.
  • Support the design, metric definition, and post-analysis of A/B tests and feature experiments.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate SQL/Python work, automation, and documentation.
  • Build reusable notebooks, scripts, and analytical workflows to scale insights across the studio.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, business intelligence, data science, analytics engineering, or a similar role.
  • Strong SQL skills, including window functions and DDL statements.
  • Experience with a cloud analytics environment such as AWS Athena, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or similar.
  • Comfort working with S3-style data lakes, structured datasets, views, and analytical tables.
  • Ability to use Python for analysis, data validation, scripting, or workflow automation.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to break vague questions into clear analytical steps.
  • Ability to explain data in plain language and connect analysis to product, marketing, or business decisions.
  • Interest in games, player behavior, product design, monetization, engagement systems, and live-service products.
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve productivity, analysis quality, and speed.
  • High ownership, strong follow-through, and comfort working in a small remote team.
  • Experience with AWS Athena, S3, Glue Data Catalog, S3 table buckets, Apache Iceberg, or similar lakehouse tools (preferred).
  • Experience with analytics for free-to-play mobile games or consumer apps, including A/B testing, player behavior, monetization, user acquisition, and marketing performance (preferred).
  • Experience with QuickSight, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar BI tools (preferred).
  • Experience with Git, code review, documentation, or working in a technical team environment (preferred).
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and live in British Columbia.
