Description

  • Lead a team of engineers building core Kalepa functionality and external-facing APIs.
  • Set technical strategy and guide the team to deliver results consistently.
  • Work hands-on as a player-coach, spending around 50% of the time coding.
  • Design and build API endpoints for customer workflows.
  • Improve database and query performance.
  • Integrate the platform with a wide range of third-party services.
  • Translate product requirements into reliable business logic.
  • Diagnose and resolve customer issues.
  • Help grow, develop, and hire talented engineers.
  • Foster a results-driven, high-performance engineering culture.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of full-time engineering people management experience.
  • Experience managing complex projects across multiple teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Past success hiring engineers at different levels.
  • Ability to make tradeoffs to ship high-quality code in a fast-growing company.
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Strong Python experience, or a strong OO background with ability to work in Python.
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2, asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.
  • Comfort working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Bonus: experience with LLMs or generative AI.
  • Bonus: experience with distributed systems.
