Description

  • Own the derivation of loads and environments for K2 Space satellites across transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation.
  • Drive subsystem-level dynamic testing from planning and coordination through analysis and model correlation.
  • Develop physics models using finite element analysis or custom software.
  • Create software tools to support data processing and simulation workflows.
  • Establish simulation workflows for analyses in both frequency and time domains.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, analysts, and external customers to develop satellite products.
  • Apply first principles to build frameworks for dynamics and non-dynamics analyses.
  • Contribute to code reviews for simulation and analysis tools.
  • Use analysis and test results to provide data-driven engineering guidance and decisions.
  • Write high-quality technical documentation for tests and simulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • 1+ years of work experience in dynamics from industry, research, internships, or academic projects.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of low- and high-frequency dynamics, including vibration, shock, and modal testing (preferred).
  • Experience with testing and measurements (preferred).
  • Experience with finite element analysis software such as FEMAP or Nastran (preferred).
  • Software development experience in Python (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of digital signal processing, statistics, and structural mechanics (preferred).
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems with little to no supervision or direction (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills for sharing analysis and test insights (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
