Description

  • Lead and coordinate month-end close for assigned entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Review trial balances, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, depreciation, revaluations, intercompany transactions, and manual journal entries.
  • Maintain accounting records in accordance with IFRS and local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve key accounting entries and adjustments within delegated authority.
  • Monitor tax, statutory, regulatory, and statistical reporting prepared by the team or external providers.
  • Manage and develop GL and Fixed Assets Accountants, including workload allocation, coaching, performance management, and KPI tracking.
  • Coordinate statutory audits, including PBC management and communication with external auditors.
  • Identify accounting risks, discrepancies, and control gaps, and ensure timely resolution or escalation.
  • Coordinate external accounting and tax providers and monitor compliance with agreed SLAs.
  • Standardize, automate, and improve accounting processes across the region.
  • Provide regional close status, accounting issues, and risk updates to Global Accounting Management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in roles such as Senior GL Accountant, GL Lead, or Accounting Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and practical experience applying it in day-to-day accounting.
  • Strong experience with General Ledger Accounting and month-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, depreciation, revaluations, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and manual journal entries.
  • Experience with statutory, tax, and regulatory reporting, including statutory audits and external auditor communication.
  • Experience managing or coordinating an accounting team, including workload allocation, quality control, and team development.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting controls and financial data validation.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
  • English proficiency at B2+ or higher.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams and external providers.
  • Proactive continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to identify risks, prioritize tasks, make decisions, and improve processes.
  • Experience working in an international group with multiple legal entities and jurisdictions (nice to have).
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, trading, or regulated industries (nice to have).
  • Experience with ERP implementation, accounting process automation, or process transformation (nice to have).
  • Experience working with shared service centers or centralized accounting functions (nice to have).
  • Experience with multi-currency accounting and complex intercompany structures (nice to have).
  • ACCA, DipIFR, CIMA, or another relevant professional accounting qualification (nice to have).
  • Experience with external accounting and tax providers across multiple jurisdictions (nice to have).
  • Experience developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls (nice to have).
