Description

  • Own the technical strategy and delivery of critical infrastructure systems across JumpCloud's platform.
  • Shape the direction of the Kubernetes-based platform and lead a major infrastructure initiative.
  • Manage EKS cluster lifecycle, infrastructure-as-code, GitOps delivery pipelines, observability, and multi-region networking.
  • Work closely with Data Platform and application engineering teams.
  • Lead technical architecture decisions and drive consensus across teams through design documents and RFCs.
  • Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar of the team.
  • Drive production troubleshooting, alert quality improvements, and noise reduction across platform monitoring.
  • Participate in on-call shifts and respond to infrastructure alerts during assigned coverage windows.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering.
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes, preferably EKS, including cluster lifecycle management, addon ecosystem, node group operations, RBAC, Crossplane, networking, and production troubleshooting.
  • Strong Terraform proficiency, including module design, state management, provider upgrades, and large-scale refactoring.
  • Solid AWS knowledge across EKS, IAM, VPC networking, NLB/ALB, Transit Gateway, Global Accelerator, Route53, CloudFront, and multi-account architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with production observability tools such as Datadog monitors, SLOs/SLIs, and PagerDuty alerting.
  • Experience with secrets management tools including HashiCorp Vault, Consul, AWS Secrets Manager, KMS, External Secrets Operator, and Cert Manager.
  • Experience working with highly available distributed systems across multiple regions.
  • Demonstrated ability to author design documents/RFCs with trade-off analysis and drive technical consensus.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, and authorization to work in India.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience designing core infrastructure components of a platform, managing cloud deployments with Terraform, and using container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, ECS, Nomad, Argo, or Istio.
  • Preferred qualifications also include experience with configuration management tools, AI usage in day-to-day infra work, and cost savings or optimization exposure.
