Description

  • Lead development of features using Django and FastAPI.
  • Architect and implement scalable web applications.
  • Establish technical standards for the Python codebase, including standards for AI-assisted contributions.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure using Railway and selective AWS usage.
  • Build and maintain AI tooling, prompts, and skills used by the engineering team.
  • Define company-wide policies and guardrails for safe and effective AI use across teams.
  • Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and raise the bar for evaluating AI-assisted work.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers.
  • Implement testing and evaluation strategies for workflows that involve AI in the loop.
  • Evaluate new technologies, including AI tools, to improve the tech stack.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Python web development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Django and FastAPI frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge of web development best practices.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies.
  • Advanced Git skills and collaborative workflows.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD.
  • Demonstrable experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot on production work.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance technical excellence with business needs.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or Railway (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and infrastructure (preferred).
  • Experience with microservices and containerization (preferred).
  • API design and scalability expertise (preferred).
  • Experience designing reusable AI artifacts such as prompts, skills, agents, or internal tooling (preferred).
  • Experience setting up organizational AI guardrails, including code review policies, IP and data-handling practices, secrets and access controls, model and tool selection, and evaluation frameworks (preferred).
  • Experience enabling non-engineering teams to use AI tools safely and productively (preferred).
