Description

  • Create structured documentation for data catalogs, metrics, user guides, SDK documentation, and UI text.
  • Help colleagues understand and use JetBrains' data ecosystem effectively.
  • Take ownership of a specific documentation area and drive it forward independently.
  • Improve documentation processes and raise the overall quality of content within the department.
  • Lead documentation projects from planning through completion.
  • Support contributors and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior writers and share documentation best practices.
  • Help make data, tools, and services easier to find, understand, and use.
  • Contribute to documentation for complex technical systems and workflows.

Requirements

  • Extensive writing experience in software, IT, or data-related domains.
  • Strong technical foundation and understanding of software development concepts and workflows.
  • Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, developer tools, data tools, datasets, metrics, data catalogs, or similar complex systems.
  • Experience with docs-as-code workflows, Markdown or XML, and version control with Git.
  • Excellent English writing skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly to highly technical audiences.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and move work forward.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis concepts and terminology (preferred).
  • Experience leading or independently completing technical documentation projects (preferred).
  • Experience improving documentation processes with templates, automation, scripts, or AI tools (preferred).
  • Experience optimizing content for both human readers and AI-based discovery and reuse (preferred).
