Description

  • Own finance workflows end to end, from problem definition and design through production launch and iteration.
  • Design agentic and LLM-based systems using extraction, retrieval, reasoning, tool use, and human review.
  • Create design documents, select models and build-versus-buy approaches, and define success metrics.
  • Collaborate with customers, finance users, Product, and Backend Engineering to identify workflow requirements.
  • Build reliable LLM pipelines with structured outputs, validation, fallbacks, and confidence scoring.
  • Develop retrieval and RAG systems using chunking, embeddings, vector search, and re-ranking.
  • Integrate AI services with backend systems using robust APIs, retries, graceful degradation, and data isolation.
  • Build evaluations, monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerts, and audit trails for AI systems.
  • Establish shared AI engineering patterns and tooling, mentor peers, and review system designs.],

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years operating production LLM or AI systems.
  • Experience owning large systems or workflows from scope and design through launch and iteration with limited direction.
  • Hands-on experience deploying LLM applications using Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar APIs.
  • Experience with agentic or multi-step AI workflows, tool orchestration, human review, or RAG systems.
  • Strong Python skills and backend experience with REST APIs, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, asynchronous patterns, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Regular use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, with an understanding of their limitations.
  • Experience with AI observability, including logging, tracing, dashboards, and quality monitoring.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Fintech, regulated-industry, finance automation, startup, technical leadership, or open-source experience is preferred.
  • Spanish or Portuguese fluency is preferred.
