Description

Implement, test, and maintain new user-facing functionality on the eCommerce platform.
Build scalable backend services and APIs that support web applications.
Partner with senior engineers on architecture and design decisions.
Work with Product Managers to improve storefront offerings so they are robust and easy to use.
Communicate and help implement engineering best practices across the team.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers in design reviews, feature planning, and code reviews.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Requirements

4+ years of professional software engineering experience in a product-centered team.
Demonstrated senior-level ownership and ability to navigate ambiguity independently.
Experience building frontend React applications, ideally in eCommerce, marketplaces, or high-traffic consumer web.
Hands-on experience with product discovery/search-browse experiences, cart and checkout flows, or performance optimization for conversion-critical pages.
Understanding of SEO best practices for organic discovery at scale and embedded or white-label experiences across partner sites and brands.
Comfort working across distributed systems and infrastructure in ambiguous, high-complexity environments.
Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and code design principles.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React, with ability to learn new languages in a rapidly evolving stack.
Experience with Ruby on Rails is preferred but not required; server-side JavaScript experience is a plus.
Base-level familiarity with relational databases.
Strong technical communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborative mindset with interest in mentoring, sharing knowledge, and learning from others.
