Description

  • Implement, test, and maintain new user-facing functionality on the eCommerce platform.
  • Build scalable backend services and APIs that support web applications.
  • Partner with senior engineers on architecture and design decisions.
  • Work with Product Managers to improve storefront offerings so they are robust and easy to use.
  • Communicate and help implement engineering best practices across the team.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers in design reviews, feature planning, and code reviews.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in a product-centered team.
  • Demonstrated senior-level ownership and ability to navigate ambiguity independently.
  • Experience building frontend React applications, ideally in eCommerce, marketplaces, or high-traffic consumer web.
  • Hands-on experience with product discovery/search-browse experiences, cart and checkout flows, or performance optimization for conversion-critical pages.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices for organic discovery at scale and embedded or white-label experiences across partner sites and brands.
  • Comfort working across distributed systems and infrastructure in ambiguous, high-complexity environments.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and code design principles.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React, with ability to learn new languages in a rapidly evolving stack.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails is preferred but not required; server-side JavaScript experience is a plus.
  • Base-level familiarity with relational databases.
  • Strong technical communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with interest in mentoring, sharing knowledge, and learning from others.
