Description

  • Support the development and maintenance of monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions.
  • Deploy and manage observability platforms including Azure Application Insights, New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Work with OpenTelemetry to collect and export telemetry data for debugging and system visibility.
  • Implement structured logging and improve metrics collection and system performance monitoring.
  • Help build and refine alerting mechanisms to improve MTTR and reduce false positives.
  • Contribute to scalable monitoring solutions across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to embed observability practices into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, dashboards, and best-practice documentation.
  • Ramp up on Ivanti products and contribute to observability issues and framework improvements over time.
  • Develop observability code for products and contribute to FedRAMP observability initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in observability, monitoring, or DevOps-related roles.
  • Basic experience with monitoring tools such as Azure AppInsights, New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Understanding of OpenTelemetry, New Relic, and AppInsights APM for telemetry data collection.
  • Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud environments.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes and container monitoring.
  • Good scripting knowledge in Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
  • Understanding of SLIs, SLOs, and incident management concepts.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom and reside in Scotland.
  • Mid-advanced Python programming experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AIOps and predictive analytics for monitoring is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of log aggregation pipelines and event-driven architectures is preferred.
  • Experience with Azure, AKS, and Azure Application Insights for telemetry and performance monitoring is preferred.
  • Certifications in observability tools or cloud platforms, such as Azure certifications, are preferred.
  • Located near Dundee, Scotland is preferred.
