Description

  • Receive and review purchase orders submitted by healthcare facilities, verifying budget compliance, item availability (including backorders), appropriateness, and alignment with purchasing trends before processing.
  • Manage and resolve tickets for non-catalogue items by communicating with facilities, sourcing required products, obtaining ownership approval, and completing the purchase process.
  • Monitor and manage facility equipment rentals by tracking usage, preventing misuse, maintaining minimum rental levels, and coordinating timely returns.
  • Process electronic invoices by matching them to purchase orders, syncing with accounting software, and investigating and resolving discrepancies or mismatches.
  • Communicate regularly with facilities, ownership, and internal teams to clarify requests, approvals, and purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and contribute to purchasing trend analysis to support cost control and compliance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of purchasing or procurement processes.
  • Exposure to healthcare facilities, specifically Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook, with required Excel skills.
  • Comfortable navigating systems and software used for purchasing and ticketing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving ability, logical judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, fast learner, and able to apply concepts across scenarios.
  • Must work EST hours Mon–Fri 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST (approx. 3:00 PM–12:00 AM South African time) and be available for both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays per BCEA).
  • Fixed fibre internet line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory; applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
  • Reliable power backup solution required to manage load shedding and power outages; applicants without power backup cannot be considered.
  • This is a fully remote role.
