Description

  • Develop and execute site and fleet blade health management plans.
  • Assess blade defects, determine repair, monitoring, mitigation, and risk-management actions, and support defect prioritization.
  • Perform root cause analyses for blade failures, recurring defects, repair quality concerns, and reliability issues.
  • Review and validate UAV and drone inspection findings and interpret AI-generated defect classifications.
  • Maintain blade condition records, inspection histories, defect databases, and CMMS documentation.
  • Analyze SCADA, condition monitoring, and operational data to identify blade-related performance issues and production losses.
  • Investigate power curve deviations, aerodynamic performance losses, and rotor imbalance indicators.
  • Support OEM and supplier engagement on warranty claims, manufacturing defects, technical issues, and corrective actions.
  • Provide engineering support for composite blade repairs, leading edge protection programs, repair scope review, and contractor oversight.
  • Develop technical reports, inspection summaries, repair scopes, and engineering recommendations while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Composite Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3–10 years of experience supporting operational wind assets in blade engineering, blade reliability, rotor engineering, or blade maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials, blade structures, manufacturing quality considerations, damage mechanisms, and repair methodologies.
  • Experience reviewing and applying OEM service bulletins, engineering specifications, repair standards, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using SCADA, condition monitoring systems, and operational performance data to support engineering decisions.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise CMMS or asset management systems.
  • Experience in an operations-focused wind environment rather than a blade design role.
  • Ability to travel 20–30% of the time, with higher travel during commissioning, inspections, investigations, or repair oversight.
  • Experience supporting blade commissioning, acceptance activities, and transition-to-operations processes (preferred).

  • Total compensation of $185,000–$195,000 USD, including base salary and bonus.
